Stress & Pain Reduction through Biofeedback

Stress is our body's natural response to challenging situations. When we encounter stress, our body activates our Sympathetic Nervous System also known as the fight-or-flight response. This response prepares us for immediate action by increasing heart rate, breathing, and muscle tension. After the threat passes, our body is supposed to return to normal.

However in today's hectic world with all of its demands and challenges we tend to stay in this fight-or-flight state for longer periods of time, some of us permanently with devastating effects.

Prolonged stress damages the body in various ways. It weakens the immune system, raises the risk of cardiovascular issues, disrupts sleep patterns, impacts digestion, and contributes to mental health disorders like anxiety and depression. Cognitive function also suffers, affecting memory and decision-making. Managing and reducing stress levels is crucial for overall well-being.

One effective technique for stress and/or pain reduction is biofeedback.

  • Cortisol is released in order to fight or run away

  • Blood flow is directed away from internal organs to the extremities

  • Increased heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure

  • Senses heighten

  • Digestion and saliva production shuts down

Parasympathetic

  • Resting heart rate decreases

  • Ability to focus

  • Increased digestion and saliva production

INDIGO Biofeedback System: How it Works

In just about five minutes, the INDIGO Biofeedback System captures and records an individual's stress reactions simultaneously. It unveils voltage, amperage, resistance, and other crucial electrical metrics that can signal well-being indicators. The system's Suppression Obstruction Cure (SOC) scores spotlight diverse lifestyle factors influencing overall stress.

With insights into over 11,000 subtle stress-related signatures and physiological aspects, the INDIGO Biofeedback System educates clients about their responses. This advanced technology operates in multifaceted ways—it measures electro-physiological reactions, re-educates muscles, nerves, and organs, and retrains body-mind areas for healthier patterns. It can even invert signals linked to stress patterns.

As the most comprehensive biofeedback system available, the INDIGO offers pre-designed stress reduction protocols or tailor-made programs to cater to individual needs. With hundreds of training programs combinable in endless ways, optimal outcomes are achievable. Moreover, up to four complementary programs can run concurrently, enhancing effectiveness synergistically.

What does a Biofeedback Session look like?

During an INDIGO Biofeedback session, the client comfortably wears wrist and ankle bracelets, along with a head harness. These wearable sensors read the body's electrical impulses, transmitting the information to a monitoring computer. The biofeedback practitioner uses this data to identify areas needing stress reduction and re-education. This empowers clients to better manage their physiological responses to stress. Additionally, the biofeedback practitioner educates clients on areas needing attention based on the translated data. This non-invasive process fosters relaxation and supports the body's natural healing ability. Biofeedback's role is not to heal, but to aid the body in recalling a balanced state, often resulting in self-regeneration as it aligns with healthier patterns of relaxation. Reducing Stress and/or pain can  improve the quality of life and create miracles in people's lives.

Frequency of Sessions:

Biofeedback operates through entrainment—a process where separate systems synchronize into a common frequency. Entrainment may require multiple sessions for the body to "relearn" healthier patterns. Quick responses are common among those whose lifestyle choices align with health. However, others might need additional education and support around nutrition, exercise, sleep, or substance avoidance. Generally, the longer stress patterns causing pain or illness persist, the more sessions may be needed to rebalance and retrain those reactions. Commitment to health often involves multiple sessions to observe and feel the results effectively.
